IGNOU -- Indira Gandhi National Open University
The Indira Gandhi National Open University was established by
an Act of Parliament in 1985. Today it serves the educational
aspirations of about 1.5 million students in India and 35
countries abroad through 11 Schools of Studies and an
elaborate network of 58 regional centres , 7 sub- regional
centres , 1400 study centres, and 41 overseas centres. The
University has its presence in 35 countries. The Commonwealth
of Learning has recognised it as one of its centres of

PTU -- Punjab Technical University Jalandhar
UGC approved under section 2(f) of UGC Act. The Only Technical
University in North India.
Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar was established in
January 1997 for advancement of technical education &
development. The University has under its affiliation 40
Engineering colleges,56 Management, 17 Pharmacy colleges ,6
Architecture 2 Hotel Management and 13 colleges imparting
courses in Medical Lab Technology & IT disciplines. The
University has an intake of more than 12700 and total strength
of more than 60,000 approx. University has established 12
Regional Centres for M-Tech courses and has established school
of Entrepreneurship 2 TQM as Mohali.
